Successful EACN Workshop on the French Riviera –
From 10 to 12 September 2025, the international Workshop on Entanglement Assisted Communication Networks (EACN) took place at EURECOM in Sophia Antipolis near Nice, France. The event was organized by Janis Nötzel and Christian Deppe, together with Boulat Bash and Uzi Pereg, while Arun Padakandla, Fatma Gouiaa, and Husein Natur ensured smooth local arrangements.
The workshop featured a stimulating scientific program highlighting the latest results and concepts for using Quantum Entanglement in communication networks. Researchers from academia and industry engaged in lively discussions on future network architectures, secure Quantum Communication, and promising applications.
Importantly, results from the QR.N project were also presented. In particular, Caspar Hopfmann and Marc Geitz showcased key advances achieved within QR.N, underscoring the project’s contribution to the international Quantum-networking Community.
A special highlight was the laboratory tour at CNRS facilities in Nice, where cutting-edge work on realizing the Quantum Internet is underway. On Tuesday, a poster session provided an excellent platform for doctoral students to present their research and foster direct scientific exchange.
The organizers expressed great satisfaction with the vibrant atmosphere, the fruitful debates, and the intensive knowledge sharing. The 2025 EACN workshop once again confirmed its role as a key meeting point for global experts in Quantum Communication and Networking – and showcased how QR.N research is helping to shape the future of entanglement-assisted communication.
