Structure

Structure of QR.N

The QR.N consortium is divided into four platforms with different research focuses, each consisting of partners from various universities, research institutions, and industrial companies.

The Committees
All partners together carry out the consortium’s research work. They are supported by two committees:
1. Steering Committee:

The Steering Committee organizes and manages the consortium with regard to its research efforts, events, administrative tasks, and external representation. It consists of representatives from the four platforms, the project spokesperson, the advisory board, and the coordination team.

2. Advisory Board:

The Advisory Board is a panel of experts whose members represent key players in Quantum Communication Research and Industry. As such, it provides the Steering Committee – and thus the entire QR.N consortium – with essential strategic and substantive guidance.

The Platforms

For the development and implementation of Quantum Networks, QR.N pursues approaches based on three different material platforms intended to serve as Quantum Memories. These are represented by the platforms QR-A (‘Single Ions and Atoms’), QR-D (‘Color Centers in Diamond’), and QR-H (‘Semiconductor Quantum Dots’). In addition, the platform QR-T (‘Theory’) conducts work on modeling Quantum Repeater Links and Quantum Communication Theory.
